Timer App

Weapons and powerups spawn at fixed times. Rockets every 120 seconds, overshield and camo every 60, on Prisoner fe. This app tells you when the important weapons and powerups are coming up. There is also an iOS version, a timer website and some others.

Map basics

Every map asks for different strategies. Chill Out is all about the rockets and Hang 'm High all about randoms. Missingo tells you about the basics of every map with commentary over gameplay videos (OG).

All of the nadetricks on this website are recorded in MCC. Many nadetricks known from Halo CE Original will not work in Halo CE MCC. Sometimes the weapons are on slightly different coordinates on the map (like the rocket on Prisoner is a bit more towards OS) but also the spinning point of weapons is different per game version. Shoot a sniper that is laying on the ground for example and notice how in MCC it spins around the trigger and in OG it spins around the magazine. This is an important thing as only the spinning point determines where the weapon flies to. Another difference between MCC and OG is the weapon orientation, but this is mostly fixed by now (like the rocket that used to face Red tower on Hang 'm High).
